proven by masses of people eating at the Claim Jumper. I haven´t heard about this place before but 1. it looked like a chain restaurant which usually serve gooooood food 2. the parking lot was packed. So I thought: let´s give it a try.
The ice tea was ok, the caesar side salad was ok, the baby back ribs ( half rack) were NOT. The mashpotatoes were weirdly cement like. The ribs didn´t taste like anything, they were soft though, the grilled veggies were not done and didn´t taste like anything as well. And the weirdest thing was I also got a buttermilk biscuit with butter and honey. Well THAT was good but I felt I was at brekkie. WEIRD! I had it as dessert. :)
So if you are ever in Fremont , CA don´t eat at the Claim Jumper.
As you already figured out left San Francisco today, dorve to Muir Woods were I did a little hiking through the big redwoods. Afterwards it was off to Sausalito, which was a big old dissapointment and not only because I got a fucking parking ticket. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I fed the wrong parking meter, the one that did not belong to my car. SHIT! But the town is like kinda dead. I was told that there were lovely shops along the waterfront , well some were but they were all shitty places. So that was a bust. The view across the bay was great though, you could see the skyline of San Francisco and the baybridge.
After the beauty of Sausalito I went to Napa Valley for some wine tasting. Weeeeeeelll, if you live right in tone of THE wine regions of Germany that is kind boring. Saw lots of vineyards, went to one tasting. Admittedly it was in a castle like place, but still. EH! Not really my thing. Masha told me that she booked a tour to Napa for when she comes over with Greg in November for over 200 USD each. Well, dear, have fun. I like Pfaffenweiler and the Fett Bemme MUCH better. :))))
Made a stop at the Jelly Bean Factory in Fairfield. :) Only for kids. Lots and lots of Schratzen there made me leave in record time again.
